A project to move from a monolithic application to a microservice architecture

Research of the company's information systems for the presence of tight coupling of key applications (finance, wholesale and retail sales, back office) into a single "monolithic" architecture of a Java application with a SQL database.

In the course of the study, the components of applications, architecture and infrastructure of the operating software complex, a model for the transition to a flexible microservice architecture was developed:

• Smooth and continuous transition with the removal of individual functions into independent functional elements;
• Detach from the base stack of a monolithic application and switch to "cheaper" modules using a noSQL DBMS;
• Interaction contracts between applications;
• Development of the structure of a microservice application using a broker.
